Kinship Barbershop
From Clippers to Concrete

Behind the Chair, Beyond the Trim
Barbershops aren’t just places for grooming—they’re places for conversation, connection, and community. That’s exactly what’s always transpired with my longtime barbers, Christian Arango and Sean Script. Over the years, between trims and fades, Christian got to know me not just as a client, but as a person and a designer. Somewhere in those conversations, he planted the seed: one day, he and Sean would open a shop of their own.
As a client and friend, I knew they had everything it takes—two young, bright, and incredibly talented individuals in their craft, with the vision and drive to make it happen. Fast forward a few years, Christian called and told me they had a space in mind and wanted me to take a look.
After seeing the space—and watching them officially secure it—my team and I went to work. What started as an empty shell transformed into one of the top barbershops in Brooklyn, and one of the most talked-about in New York.
Working with Christian D’Angelo and Sean Script was not only an honor, but a privilege—to witness two people living out their long-held dream of owning their own shop. The response from their clients, family, and friends to the finished project filled me with pride as a designer, and joy as a friend.
Be sure to check out the before-and-after photos, as well as a little surprise detail—a “speakeasy” bathroom door inspired by our shared love of tattoos, a nod to an old-school tattoo parlor hidden behind it.
Make sure to book an appointment and get a first-hand experience of the space and what makes Christian and Sean the best at their craft.
